Check In

• We will be meeting at LOT 13 Friday, May 15th at 5:30pm to check everyone in. (Map is within)

• There will be a small group of cars (cars 1-3) leaving early at 6:00pm to set up our telescopes

• ⁠Please be on time with your filled out liability waiver (if you have not turned it in already).

• We will have everyone on their way by 6:30pm. If you arrive after 6:30pm there is a possibility that your car will have left without you!

 

​At Joshua Tree

• We will arrive at Joshua tree at around 8pm. By that time the park is free to enter.

• The Astronomy Club at UCR will be tentatively providing the following telescopes: two 8" Newtonian Reflectors, one 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain, 12" Dobsonian, Seestar S30 Pro

• Please keep highlights off once you arrive! It takes ~30 minutes for the human eye to adapt to the darkness, and being exposed to light restarts this process.

• We will be giving out red cellophane to tape over your phone flashlight (red light does not disrupt your eyesight's adaptation to the darkness).

• It will be midly cold (67F/19.5C)! Please dress accordingly. 

• Group picture will be taken at around 9:30pm.

• The Astronomy Club at UCR will stay until  11pm. Whenever you want to leave is up to you and your driver.

• We will be selling coffee, hot cocoa, and cookies! We advise you to bring CASH because we've had connection issues with Tap-to-pay in the past.
